Sphere Fluidics is an established, Life Sciences company which is developing new, novel platforms for single cell analysis and characterisation. Due to growth, we are looking for two talented individuals to join us:

1) Microbiology/Cell Biology Technician

We currently have a superb opportunity for a Microbiologist/ Cell Biologist Technician to join our growing R&D team and to assist in the development of cutting-edge instrumentation and biological Tools. The candidate will have a BSc or MSc degree (or relevant laboratory experience) in Cell Biology, Microbiology or related disciplines. Experience in microbial and/or mammalian cell culture, aseptic and microbiology bench techniques is desired. Abilities to work in a GLP environment is preferable. An understanding of microfluidics will be advantageous but not essential. All relevant training will be given. Candidates with an interest in cutting edge technologies and eager to work in a multidisciplinary environment is encouraged to apply. Salary range: £23,000-£26,000 per annum. 

For this role requirements are:
- A degree in Microbiology, Biology or related discipline.
- Basic experience in working in a Microbiology or Biology laboratory.
- Basic knowledge of GLP and QC.
- Excellent verbal, documentation and communications skills.
- A positive, energetic, honest and self-motivated character.

Note, you will get full support and training and your duties will include:
- Working independently in a GLP environment.
- Growing cells and maintaining stocks.
- Conducting cell and microbiology experiments.
- Carrying out microfluidic chip testing according to SOPs for a range of Microbiology and Cell Biology applications.
- Participate in the production of microfluidic chips.
- Maintain, compile and record samples, materials and experiments in an organized manner.
- Contribute to generation of concise reports.
- Ensure that testing is completed in a timely manner.

2) Chemistry Technician

We currently have a great opportunity for a Chemistry Technician to join our growing R&D team and to assist in the development of cutting-edge instrumentation, microfluidic chips and specialised chemicals.

The candidate will have a BSc or MSc degree (or relevant laboratory experience) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related disciplines. Experience in basic organic chemistry, analytical techniques and an ability to work in a GLP environment is essential. An understanding of microfluidics will be advantageous, but not essential. All relevant training will be given. Candidates with an interest in cutting edge technologies and eager to work in a multidisciplinary environment is encouraged to apply.
Salary range: £23,000-£26,000 per annum.

- A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
- Basic experience in working in a Chemistry laboratory.
- Basic knowledge of GLP and QC.
- Excellent verbal, documentation and communications skills.

You will get full support and training and your duties will include:
- Working independently in a GLP laboratory.
- Preparing of samples or material for analysis, purification or further processing.
- Preparation of a specialist chemical products for shipment to customers.
- Conducting chemistry and microfluidic experiments.
- Participation in the production of microfluidic chips.
- Maintain, compile and record samples, materials and experiments in an organized manner.
- Carrying out goods-in and QC activities.
- Contribute to generation of concise reports.
- Ensure that testing is completed in a timely manner.
